The latest band to take on our 2021 Q&A challenge are Leeds’ Apollo Junction, an accomplished 5-piece who’ve produced some of our most played tracks on the H2N Radio Show.
Apollo Junction are…Matt (Guitar), Jamie (Vocals), Ben (Bass), Sam (Keys) & Jonny (Drums)
2021 will hopefully be better than 2020. What are your hopes and ambitions for the band this year?
To get out more… To keep releasing singles and get album 2 out later in the year. It’s shaping up to be an album that we think will really stand the test of time.
What can fans expect from you this year, assuming things get back to some kind of normality?
Lots of new music and eventually lots of gigs
Q3: If you could have written any song in history, which would it be?
Matt – Bat Out of Hell (Meat Loaf)
Jonny – Whatever (Oasis)
Sam – History (The Verve)
Ben – Anything by Dire Straits
Jamie – Mr Blue Sky or the whole of Kick by Inxs
The year is 2031, what would you like to have said you’d achieved by then?
Stadium tours. Sam on his 4th wife. Maybe 5/6 albums in and no dip in quality.
You can collaborate with any international artist, who is it and why?
That’s a hard question… probably U2 because we are all fans and hopefully they’d take us on tour.
The Ultimate Tour – which venues feature if you have to tour the following criteria
Date 1: The venue of the best show you’ve played so far
Belgrave music hall – it’s a special venue with a great vibe. We played the cockpit in Leeds too before it shut – that’s a special venue and very missed.
Date 2: Your bucket list venue
There’s just too many venues we want to play. Both big and small. We can’t possibly decide now.
Date 3: The venue of the best show you’ve ever seen live
Date 4: Any global festival
Date 5: A hometown show
Warehouse Leeds (we’re playing here on 27th November 2021 – tickets on sale now)
In one sentence, why should people check out your music?
Because we’re your new favourite band!
What’s your favourite song you’ve recorded so far and your favourite to play live?
Recorded – there’s one for album 2 called ‘Light Up The Sky’ – it’s epic.
Live – either Begin but I’ve a feeling that Borderlines will be storming when we get to start playing it.
Someone’s writing a book/film about your band, what’s the title?
This is what happens when you never give up.
If we were to play your Spotify Wrapped from last year, who would
we be listening to?
A mad selection of mainly 80s and 90s with some real curveballs thrown in that confused even us.
