Stockton Calling is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019 and the multi-venue music festival is pleased to announce the line-up for The Georgian Theatre stage.
Headlining the stage are Mercury Prize nominated conceptual indie art-rock ensemble British Sea Power. Last seen in the north-east packing out Newcastle’s Boiler Shop with their 100 Years Armistice remembrance show, British Sea Power have become an institution over the years and have built up a hugely loyal fan-base off the back of their critically acclaimed recorded output and inventive live shows.
Paul Burns of Tees Music Alliance, and one of Stockton Calling’s organisers, said:
“British Sea Power are, quite simply, one of the best loved bands in the UK. We’re delighted to have them headlining The Georgian Theatre stage at this year’s Stockton Calling.”
Also appearing at The Georgian Theatre are hotly tipped guitar-poppers whenyoung, London alternative rockers Childcare, Irish grunge band Just Mustard, gothic darkwave from Darlington’s The Black Sheep Frederick Dickens, Leeds’ fuzzy experimentalists Team Picture, dark garage rock from Fire (The Unstoppable Force), and electronic alt-pop from Newcastle’s Twist Helix.
Already announced for Stockton Calling 2019 are Sunderland’s The Futureheads who will headline Stockton Calling after a six year hiatus, indie legends Reverend & The Makers who are headlining KU, and The Orielles who are headlining the ARC 2 stage.
Stages programmed by north-east promoters The Kids Are Solid Gold, Into Tomorrow, and NARC Magazine have already been announced.
The full-line up so far can be found at www.stocktoncalling.co.uk with the rest of the programme to be announced over the next two weeks.
