Halfway 2 Nowhere’s Friday @ Tramlines Festival Guide

Over the coming weeks, we will be profiling each of the three days at this years Tramlines Festival. With a lineup bigger than ever, at a new location across the city; Tramlines 2018 promises to be one of the most exciting festivals in the UK this year so we thought we’d make it easy for you, picking some of the best acts you cannot miss this July.

Looking at the lineup at a glance for Friday 20th July, it’s clear to see that the Leadmill Stage is the place to be from start to finish. The five acts that have been announced so far offer an eclectic mix of music from indie rock to alt-pop. Opening things up are Sheffield based indie rockers Oddity Road. Having played a rousing set on the Crystal Stage at Tramlines fringe in 2017, they’ve been given the opportunity to open the Leadmill stage at this year’s main sits.  They started the year selling out Sheffield Academy so you can be sure of a strong home crowd when seeing them this July, one not to miss!

Travelling all the way from Halifax, one of the most exciting acts playing over the weekend are The Orielles. Known for being some of the nicest people on the circuit, sisters Sidonie and Esme and best friend, Henry, are a tight knit group who always seem to have smiles on their faces. They love to experiment with instruments and sounds and they’ll be showcasing their brand new album at Tramlines this summer.

Headlining the stage are the phenomenal Mystery Jets. Six studio albums in to their career, the band from London never disappoint on the live stage. With 2016 record Curve of the Earth still managing to impress on every listen, Mystery Jets will be looking to blow the roof off the Leadmill stage when they go toe to toe with Stereophonics in battle of the headliners.

Tickets for the 10th Tramlines Festival have been selling fast. They’re now on sixth release costing £79 plus booking fee for a weekend ticket, covering all three days and are available from www.tramlines.org.uk. Keep an eye out for further lineup announcements by following Tramlines on social ‘@tramlines’.
