Festival on the Wall – Bumper Preview – Part One: The Festival

This post signals the start of our year long coverage of the brilliant new festival that launches this summer in Northumberland – The Festival on the Wall. Based near Hadrian’s Wall the festival will run on the weekend on the 4th August and promises to be one of the summers highlights.

The phase one announcement announcement is out (look out for part two of the preview) with artists ranging from upcoming artists like The Sherlock’s and Calum Scott to established acts Maximo Park, Twin Atlantic and JP Cooper.  As well as these fantastic acts, singer MNEK and pop hero Mark Ronson will be lighting up the festival stages this summer. Headlining the bill are The Libertines and  The Pet Shop Boys whom both have ties to the North East area.

It is difficult to argue that that lineup is not one of the best announced so far this year and with more than just music on offer at the festival, it is one of the UKs most exciting propositions for the summer.

Promising to be the “happiest festival in the UK” the event organisers are hoping to bring everything accessible in every day life to the festival with hot showers, great food and easy phone charging. But as well as all of this, the entertainment lineup that will be on offer is a stunning mix of established and new festival ideas that sets this festival aside from all others.

The Thunderdome will be a stunning mad Max esque stage with a 360° flame filled area for dance and DJ acts. With a roller disco, Karavanaoke and Hot Tub Sanctuary the festival provides one of the most unique experiences on offer in the UK.

There are also a range of eclectic camping options ranging from bring your own tent to camping pods to look up at the Northumberland night sky. All prices can be found on the website (see below). With a range of ticket prices also currently on offer – £10 of each ticket will go towards UNICEF a brilliant charity.

  1. “It is difficult to argue that that lineup is not one of the best announced so far this year”

How much are you getting paid?! Bestival, Kendal Calling, glasto etc.

    This should read ‘paid advertisement’

  2. These festivals have announced many more acts at this stage; as a phase one artist lineup with just a few bands, to get such an eclectic mix from The Libertines to MNEK makes it “one of the most”. We love Kendal and will be going as well as Reading and Leeds and a number of euro ones we just believe that this particular artist lineup is a genuinely exciting one and unlike many others in the UK
